Meet the Band

Lee

Lee formed MSF in 2011 and has been the driving force behind it ever since. Lee’s fantastic stage presence, passion for Ska, and his ability to work a crowd makes him a second to none frontman, and guaranteed to get your party started.

Sean - Keys

Sean has been a professional musician on the circuit for over 20 years and is comfortable playing any style you can imagine. His love of all things Ska led him to MSF in 2013 and he’s never looked back. A talented multi-instrumentalist, Sean also plays guitar and provides backing vocals.

Bob - Drums

Bob began playing drums at a young age and been active on the music scene for over 30 years! Bob provides the bouncing groove that drives the music of Ska foundation and gets audiences up and dancing.

Jonny (Too Bad) - Sax

Jonny’s energetic sax style and deep love of the genre makes him the perfect choice for MSF. Jonny has been active professionally on the UK music scene for many years, playing many roles including: Sound Engineer, Musical Director, and Session Musician. As well as his role with MSF, Jonny is also a Director of the Lancaster Music Festival and works in Project Management.

Alex (The Doctor) - Bass

Alex is a professional musician with over 30 years’ experience, with a reputation for consistency and professionalism (and of course chops!) As well as being the bottom end of MSF, Alex also teaches in a world renowned conservatoire in the North of England.

Sam - Trumpet

A graduate of the RNCM, Sam enjoyed four years of study under many great trumpet players. He currently plays with the Black Dyke Brass Band as well as MSF. Freelancing in and around Manchester, Sam has been lucky enough to work alongside people such as Jason Manford, Russell Watson, Ronnie Corbett amongst others and groups such Jonny Cash Roadshow and Collabro. He enjoys performing and has a passion for Ska music!

Dan - Guitar

Dan started playing guitar aged 15 and quickly realised that music was pretty much all he wanted to do after stealing his older brother’s Thrash Metal CD collection. Dan has been playing professionally around the UK for over 10 years, and has played almost every style you can think of (though Ska is obviously his favourite!) When he’s not gigging with MSF, Dan is sharing his love of the guitar teaching from home or in schools across Greater Manchester (click here for more info!)
